class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The\u00a0Shelter<u>belt<\/u>\u00a0<u>Re<\/u>moval\u00a0<u>T<\/u>ool (Belt-ReT)\u00a0is an easy-to-use, interactive information system designed to provide you with the only available, extensive, and customized\u00a0<strong>shelterbelt removal inventory<\/strong>\u00a0data for your location. The output charts and values of the Belt-ReT tool are intended to help you investigate the at-risk shelterbelt designs subjected to recent removals during 2008-2016 by land managers. This tool is intended to assist you in your management decisions about your existing shelterbelts, as well as to plan the designs for your future shelterbelts, based on these unique data for at-risk shelterbelt designs identified by land managers in your area.\u00a0<strong>These are the ONLY data depicting recent shelterbelt removals in the country.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p>The Belt-ReT tool estimates carbon stocks and lengths for all removed shelterbelts (2008-2016).\u00a0As shown in the Chart outputs (pie and bar charts below) of the Belt-ReT tool, the carbon stocks and lengths are estimated for the following\u00a0<strong>combinations of removed\u00a0shelterbelt characteristics<\/strong>:<\/p><ul><li>two shelterbelt types (<strong>farm<\/strong>=farm yard;\u00a0<strong>field<\/strong>= crop field),<\/li><li>three species groups (<strong>C<\/strong>=coniferous (pine, spruce);\u00a0<strong>D<\/strong>=deciduous (ash, maple, poplar);<strong>\u00a0S<\/strong>=shrub (caragana))<\/li><li>three condition groups (<strong>G<\/strong>=good (&gt;80% of trees remaining);\u00a0<strong>F<\/strong>=fair (50-80% of trees remaining);\u00a0<strong>P<\/strong>=poor (&lt;50% of trees remaining))<\/li><li>three width categories (<strong>N<\/strong>=narrow (1-row);\u00a0<strong>M<\/strong>=medium (2-3 rows);\u00a0<strong>W<\/strong>=wide (&gt;3 rows))<\/li><li>four planting designs\u00a0<strong>(Bracket; L-shape; Linear; other<\/strong>)<\/li><li>six planting directions (<strong>E-W<\/strong>=east-west;\u00a0<strong>NE-SW<\/strong>=northeast-southwest;\u00a0<strong>N-S<\/strong>=north-south;\u00a0<strong>SE-NW<\/strong>=southeast-northwest; etc.)<\/li><li>seven planting length groups (<strong>0-50\u00a0<\/strong>m;\u00a0<strong>51-100<\/strong>\u00a0m;\u00a0<strong>101-200<\/strong>\u00a0m;\u00a0<strong>201-400<\/strong>\u00a0m;\u00a0<strong>401-800<\/strong>\u00a0m;\u00a0<strong>801-1600<\/strong>\u00a0m;\u00a0<strong>&gt;1601<\/strong>\u00a0m)<\/li><li>seven age groups (in 2016) (<strong>0-10<\/strong>\u00a0yr;\u00a0<strong>11-20<\/strong>\u00a0yr;\u00a0<strong>21-30<\/strong>\u00a0yr;\u00a0<strong>31-40<\/strong>\u00a0yr;\u00a0<strong>41-50<\/strong>\u00a0yr;\u00a0<strong>51-60<\/strong>\u00a0yr;\u00a0<strong>&gt;61<\/strong>\u00a0yr)<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>\u200bINSTRUCTIONS:<\/strong><br \/>The Belt-ReT tool is accessible for any location in agricultural Saskatchewan through the cluster links below (GRAY buttons within the CLUSTER box).
